I concur Charlie. Having ridden thru the bad days, i can comment: The sysadmins of the old SUK put out the word that the site was closing. Many peeps left. A few of us ignored them and hung on. The site did go down for a couple of months as i recall. Since it's my home page, i kept trying it, and lo and behold, it reappeared. It ran (apparently without sysop support) for months, then disappeared again (as i recall). During the last days, i understand [from Kosso i believe] that nobody was being paid. Hence they all finally left in disgust. Now,a new lot have taken it over. I wish them luck, but it would be nice to have the chat room back. I did numerous 'deals' on there - buying UK DvDs by remote control - and paying for many of them with jeans from the states, as well as other things. I also got a copy of the movie "Kenny" from Oz - which is totally unobtainable in the states, where i now live. If you haven't seen that, IMHO it's worth a look. My yank mates think it's fantastic! Hi Rainey... a text from the past!! Yep.. still hopping. Kosso told me that the password list was garbaged when they were changing servers a few years ago, so i lost my original 'Rabbit' ID. I therefore set up another - cause nobody can figure out what the garbaged password has to be to log in. So what r u up to? I managed to lock myself out of my talk21 account. I logged on once and found a bunch (50 msgs or so) of bounces from someone obviously using my account to send kiddie porno spam. I changed the password to something REALLY tricky. The prob is, it's so tricky that i can't remember exactly what it is. BT changed the 'i can't remember my password' pgm, so that the usa post code i used when i set up the account is rejected due to no letters in it, so i can't reset the pw. I'm about half retired now, unless i find some foreign adventure that i simply CANNOT pass up. I've made a few trips to Puerto Rico over the last few years, doing some consulting. Interesting environment - you have to operate in Spanish, because 90% of tahe locals don't speak English (or Yank). So what r u up to these days?? Cheers Rab
